WordPress 3.0.2
-
We’d just like to congratulate Vladimir our Head of Development and Internet Security at Extreme Member for well over 2 years now for his work and contribution to WordPress 3.0.2. Click here for more details. It is interesting to note that at least one other Internet Hosting Company is claiming credit for Vladimir’s work.
In actual fact they have other security issues that are unrelated to this fix (they have a vulnerability in their actual hosting NOT in WP itself and recently had over 40 of their WP sites hacked – not related to the 3.0.2 bug fix), but because Vladimir has done some work on a Systems Admin level for them they are claiming they found the problem and had Vladimir fix it. This is not the truth!
Vladimir was not the first person to find this hole in WordPress as he notes in his post. But he was the first to report & fix it. He found some other vulnerabilities whilst fixing it.
As noted by Vladimir himself “Extreme Member is much more secure” than these other hosting companies. We have 24/7 monitoring and dedicated security experts on our team.
We’re very happy for Vladimir that he has been recognized for his good work with WordPress as he continues to make valuable contributions to the wider WP Open Source community too. Three cheers for Vladimir!! hip hip hooray!
