So how do you go about setting up your site if you want to sell an ebook or other digital product? Here I’ll cover in 5 basic steps what you need to do on the ‘back end’ side of things.

Once you’ve done that you need to go hard and market it!

    Step 1

Upload your PDF ebook to secure files – click here for instructions on that.

    Step 2

Create a new membership levelclick here for instructions on that.
But it’s VERY easy. Just go to MEMBERSHIPS > ADD MEMBERSHIP and then choose the ‘One Time’ membership.

    Why do we do that?

Simple, because when the person purchases they will then have access to that level too. Meaning you can protect a page or post that you want to have the ebook on. It will ONLY be downloadable to someone with the right access. (e.g. the public can’t just stumble upon it and then download it – Impossible!!)

    Step 3

Create a new Email List for everyone who has that membership level. To do that go to EMAIL + SMS > LISTS.

Select users that match the following: MEMBERSHIP — IS — <select your membership level>
    Add Filter
Select users that match the following: MEMBERSHIP STATUS — IS — ACTIVE
That’s it – just click SAVE LIST. Now you just need to write the email they will receive after they order.

    Step 4

Create a new Email Follow-up Series – this is where you can create 1 or more emails that will automatically go out to your customers after they purchase at set intervals.

Go to EMAIL + SMS > FOLLOW-UPS (click on the Create a New Follow-Up Set)

Now just write the email and include a link to the ‘Secure File – Ebook’ also It’s a good idea to let them know they will have to LOGIN to download the book.

    Step 5

Create your sales page/sign up form – You’re almost there now! Yihaa. Just create your ‘Sign up form’ now (go to FORMS) menu, create your form and insert it into your sales page or wherever you want people to be signing up and purchasing on your site.

    That’s it!

Let me know if you have any questions on that.

    Cheers
    Shane
