If you’re not using Extreme Member for email marketing maybe you’ve got the Starter account and you’re quite happy plodding along without worrying about using the Email side of things now or in the near future. You ‘may’ want to turn off the forced double optin.

What double opt-in means is when a user subscribes to a ‘Free’ membership OR a newsletter (newsletter optin) they will be sent an automated email called an Opt-in Confirmation (which are customizable with Extreme Member), the user is required to Click on the verification link in that email to confirm it is their email address.

So it’s a great practice to elimiate spam etc.

I must stress also that Email marketing is a POWERFUL way of marketing and should be used with virtually ALL sites to further monetize. (if monetization is the goal).

So what to do though if you don’t want double optin and you’re not interested in Emailing your members? I’m going to show you a work around that is VERY simple to implement.

    1. Go to your PLUGINS menu.

    2. Locate the EM Aweber Integration plugin

    3. Activate the plugin

    4. Go to your Email Menu > Aweber Integration (click on that) and then check on the Turn on AWeber Integration ‘Yes’.

That’s it! By turning on the Aweber Integration EM assumes that you are NOT using EM for the email marketing, even if you’re not using Aweber! If you have any questions about this feel free to email me
