Alot of people have asked about using AmazonS3 storage with their EM site. We’ve now got a couple of options for you. The first one is a plugin that we’ve added that allows you to directly access your AmazonS3 buckets from your EM site, it hooks into the media manager so pretty much with one click you can add new videos, audio and other files to your AmazonS3 bucket and insert them into posts and pages.

We’ve created a short tutorial here on how it works.

There is another option which we’ve started using and is working really well at www.photoshopzoo.com – it’s integrated with ezs3. More on that later.

We have successfully finished the migration for the new version of One-Theme for Extreme Member.

As per information on the One-Theme site:

Most notable changes are:

• The speed increase. We’ve massively reduced the initial load time of One Theme by approximately 65%.
• IonCube encoding. Due to recently being abused by the pirates at various websites, the decision was made to use IonCube as a means of protecting One Theme.
• The Language File. You can now change most of the text to anything you like by editing the ot_plugins/language.php file. I strongly recommend that you backup the original before hand!
• Massive CSS and HTML fixes in both the back and front end.

Some other changes that have not appeared on this blog as of yet.

• Several fixes with the installer and license activation script.
• Improvements to the contact form template.
• RSS Subscribe added to all categories.
• New image in place when there are no related articles

The IonCube encoding does not have any effect on you since we handle all that side of things. We’ve been able to assist the guys at One-Theme with some enhancements particularly the optimization for speed which they’ve done a great job on.

They have just released 1.1.3 with some other minor updates, then version 2.0 will be released late in the year or early next year (No confirmed release date as yet).

We will be upgrading to the latest version of One-Theme (v. 1.1.3) over the weekend (Sunday). This should be a seemless upgrade with no disruption to service at all.

BTW, I’ve just been in discussion with Karl and Lee from One-Theme and there are some super cool and exciting things on the cards for v. 2.0 of One-Theme coming soon.

Today we experienced a minor hiccup with our support suite powered by Fogbugz. It was an administration error on our part that caused it to email previous clients who had submitted tickets. oops!
